Before a soldier enters combat, he or she undergoes basic training, then further training on weapons, communications, battlefield tactics, the enemy, etc. Before an athlete competes in an organized sport, he or she learns from coaches who teach sound fundamentals of the sport, and then spends countless hours of practice in preparation to compete effectively and win. Preparation is critical, at least if you want to win the game, or the war. Pre marriage counseling is all about preparation before your wedding day and the challenges that follow.
56% of marriages in North Carolina end up in divorce. Why? In the majority of cases, they have either never been taught HOW to build and guard a Christ centered marriage, or they have not yet developed the necessary skills in APPLYING that which they learned. Preparation often is grossly lacking.
